We work with marginalized groups, survivors of gender-based violence, and communities affected by conflict to foster healing, empowerment, and social justice. Our approach utilizes process and performance theatre to explore topics such as gender equality, mental health, climate change, education, peacebuilding, and more.

      We are currently looking for a passionate Communication Assistant to join our team immediately and support our communication strategies, content creation, and outreach efforts. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a mission-driven organization while gaining valuable hands-on experience in communication, peacebuilding, and media work.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Content Creation & Reporting: Assist in documenting and reporting on the progress of the organization’s projects, including case studies and communication resources for internal and external use.
      • Research & Media Monitoring: Conduct research on target audience perceptions and monitor social media, forums, and the press to gauge feedback on the organization’s projects and initiatives.
      • Social Media & Website Management: Help create and manage content for the organization’s website and social media platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement.
      • Press Relations: Support the preparation of press releases, media advisories, and other public relations materials. Assist in organizing media interviews and press conferences.
      • Design & Publications: Assist in the design and development of promotional materials such as newsletters, flyers, brochures, and annual reports.
      • Video & Digital Content: Capture, edit, and upload videos documenting the activities and projects of the organization.
      • Photography: Capture high-quality photos during events, field visits, and activities to visually document the organization’s work and support communication materials.
      • Field Visits & Monitoring: Participate in field visits to document project progress, conduct assessments, and liaise with target groups.
      • Peacebuilding Communication: Contribute to peacebuilding initiatives by supporting the creation and dissemination of materials focused on promoting conflict transformation, dialogue, and healing within communities.
      • General Administrative Support: Assist with general communication tasks, including organizing events, preparing reports, and managing communication materials.

      Essential Functions & Requirements:

      • Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Social Work, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
      • Skills:
        • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
        • Proficiency in social media management, content creation, and digital marketing.
        • Basic graphic design and video editing skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Coreldraw, Canva, or similar tools is a plus).
        • Knowledge of website management (WordPress) and content publishing platforms.
        • Photography and video recording skills, with the ability to capture and edit content for various platforms.
      • Passion: A genuine passion for social justice, peacebuilding, gender equality, and utilizing communication to drive positive change.
      • Travel: Must be willing to travel frequently to field locations for assessments and project monitoring.
      • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
      • Work Ethic: Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

      • Field Work: This role involves frequent travel to various field locations to assess project activities, monitor progress, and interact with target groups.
