    The Role:

We are seeking a Resident Artist for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Program to join our team in Nigeria. As a Resident Artist, you will play a key role in facilitating artistic workshops, performances, and community engagement activities for internally displaced persons (IDPs). This is an opportunity to use your artistic skills as a tool for emotional healing, empowerment, and social change. You’ll be working closely with local artists and facilitators to bring creative projects to life in IDP communities.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead and facilitate art and theatre workshops for IDP communities, focusing on healing, empowerment, and social change.
    • Create and direct spontaneous performances, using theatre to engage and connect with displaced persons.
    • Support local artists and community members in developing their artistic skills and using creativity for personal growth.
    • Work closely with project managers and local partners to ensure projects meet community needs and foster collaboration.
    • Share your expertise in art and theatre with other artists and facilitators through mentorship and guidance.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Proven experience as an artist, particularly in facilitating art or theatre workshops in unconventional spaces (e.g., refugee support, IDPs, gender-based violence).
    • A passion for using art and theatre to create social change and promote healing.
    • Strong creative facilitation and performance skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with diverse communities.
    • A flexible, adaptable approach to working in challenging environments.
    • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
    • Must be able to secure travel grants or funding to cover travel expenses to Nigeria.

    What We Offer:

    • Accommodation and visa support letter for your stay in Nigeria.
    • An opportunity to create a positive impact on the lives of IDPs through art and theatre.
    • The chance to work with a dynamic, passionate team and collaborate with local artists and facilitators.

    How to Apply:

If you’re excited to bring your artistic talents to a meaningful cause, we would love to hear from you! Please send your resume, portfolio (if applicable), and a cover letter to [email protected].

Note: Applicants must secure their own travel funding or grants to cover travel expenses to Nigeria.
